The TJX Companies Foundation Awards Grant to Saint Vincent’s

TJX DonationFor the second year in a row, Saint Vincent’s has received a $5,000 grant award from The TJX Companies Foundation to support the Life Skills Program for youth, ages 14 to 21. Saint Vincent’s Life Skills Program staff works with identified youth to engage them in school-to-work experiences, helping them to master the thinking, self-confidence, teamwork, and problem-solving skills necessary to compete in higher education and/or the workplace. The school-to-work experiences at the TJMaxx Store in Dartmouth, MA provide a foundation through which Saint Vincent’s youth are learning employable skills and developing the ability to make informed choices about careers and occupations.

“By providing Saint Vincent’s with this grant award for the second year in a row,” stated Saint Vincent’s Life Skills Coordinator Rachele Foley, “The TJX Companies Foundation is ensuring that youth receive work-based learning opportunities that prepare them for future employment opportunities. Saint Vincent’s staff coach, support, and empower youth to identify and prepare for careers, to plan for independent living, and to explore extra-curricular activities that interest them. Paulette D’Amato, Dartmouth TJMaxx Store Manager and her staff are providing a workplace that offers our youth valuable retail experience,” added Foley.
