Five Year Recipients |
Saint Vincent’s values its employees and is committed to fostering a positive and caring work environment. To that end, Saint Vincent’s publicly rewards dedication, service, and tenure through an Annual Staff Tenure Ceremony held each fall to acknowledge staff reaching various five-year incremental employment milestones.
At the Staff Tenure Ceremony held on Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at 5:00 p.m., 35 employees were honored for their years of service at Saint Vincent’s. Fourteen employees reached five-year milestones, twelve employees reached ten-year milestones, five employees reached fifteen-year milestones, three employees reached twentieth-year anniversaries, and one employee reached her twenty-fifth year anniversary at Saint Vincent’s. During their anniversary month, each recipient receives a monetary gift based on their years of service along with a letter thanking them for their dedication and commitment to the organization’s Mission.
At the Staff Tenure Ceremony, Saint Vincent’s Executive Director, Jack Weldon, presented each recipient with an award engraved with their name and years of service. In his opening remarks, Mr. Weldon stated, “One of the things which makes any service-providing agency strong is the stability of its staff. The number of people being recognized today for significant tenure with the agency is testament to the dedication and commitment of our staff and is a measure of the relative stability of the agency as a provider of services to children, youth and families.”
A book consisting of candid photos of the 5- and 10-year recipients as well as additional testimonials summarizing the 15-, 20-, and 25-year anniversaries was shared with all honorees and guests. Mr. Weldon thanked the recipients by saying, “I am grateful to each honoree for choosing to be part of the Saint Vincent’s team and for making the commitment to contribute to the fulfillment of our Mission over time.” “Each recipient is truly the face of the agency to all of the children and families we serve,” he added. The Staff Tenure Ceremony is a reflective and inspirational tribute to those individuals who have made a significant commitment to Saint Vincent’s.
Saint Vincent’s Staff Tenure Planning Committee coordinated the “theme park” style event, complete with balloons, festive decorations and food one would find at an amusement park or faire. Approximately 100 people filled the “standing room only” dining hall. Employee recipients, their family, friends, and fellow staff members enjoyed chili, pizza, hotdogs, French fries, onion rings, calamari, popcorn, peanuts, candy apples, and cotton candy. A fun, festive Staff Tenure Ceremony honoring the 35 staff members for their years of service at Saint Vincent’s was had by all.
