Saint Vincent’s, a multi-service not-for-profit organization that educates, supports and empowers youth to identify and prepare for careers, to complete school, and to explore extra-curricular activities that interest them, has received a $10,000 grant from Staples Foundation for Learning (SFFL), a private foundation created by Staples, Inc. Funding will support Saint Vincent’s Life Skills Program for youth - ages 14 to 21, so they may develop the academic, technical, social, and employable skills necessary to support themselves and live independently. Since 2009, SFFL has provided Saint Vincent’s with $15,000 in support.
“Staples Foundation for Learning’s continued support allows Saint Vincent’s to expand our Life Skills Program by providing additional work-based learning sites for young people, providing job coaching and giving them the experience necessary for future employment opportunities,” said Jack Weldon, Saint Vincent’s Executive Director.
“The work Saint Vincent’s does to prepare youth for future employment and career opportunities is what Staples Foundation for Learning is all about,” said Bill Madormo, Staples Regional Vice President. “Staples is pleased to assist organizations like Saint Vincent’s in helping youth build positive relationships and realize their full potential,” he said.
