Staff Recognition CQI Team

The Staff Recognition CQI Team focused on the goals of increasing the creativity of how staff is recognized, increasing the participation process throughout the agency, solidifying a consistent process of staff recognition, and ensuring that the recognition process is aligned with the agency’s core values.

The Team continued to collaborate with other CQI Teams, including Staff Development and Mission / Cultural, to enhance and implement various acknowledgement processes. The fourth Annual Staff Tenure Awards was celebrated in November 2008, honoring 28 individuals who reached various milestones of service to the Agency.  We continued our public acknowledgment of staff through participation in a regional award process early in the year.

During the past year, we hosted three Staff Appreciation Days, offering a variety of refreshments, gift cards, and giveaways.  For one of the Staff Appreciation events, we had printed colorful T-shirts for staff with one of our Mission Core Values, Commitment to Children, in bold letters printed on the back.  We initiated discussions on hosting a different type of staff outing or event and will continue the discussion/planning in the new fiscal year.  We continued the process of issuing welcome cards to new staff as well as sharing names of individual and team recipients of recognition at All Staff meeting forums. 

The Team has continued to engage staff in discussions throughout the agency on identifying the most meaningful, personalized manner to celebrate various milestones for staff.  Throughout the year, the team continued to review various articles relating to employee recognition and share this new information with respective teams and departments.  All of these goals and objectives will continue to be relevant for this next fiscal year as well.
